Today a News Release on CTV indicated that Manitoba will be going to Critical (Red) level under the Pandemic Response System. The announcement has included a statement that specified Early Learning and Child Care and schools will not be affected at this time.
Discovery Children’s Centre and schools will remain open. We have confirmed with the St James Assiniboine School Division that bussing will not be affected at this time.
Discovery’s Board has decided to suspend all Nursery School Programs for a period of three weeks, at which time we will re evaluate.
Last week a survey was sent out to all of Discovery’s parents in an attempt to collect information regarding parent’s who will self declare as “Critical Service Workers”. It will also be important to find out if Public Health orders a Critical Level (Red) response in Early Learning and Child Care Centres, who will be able to find alternate care arrangements. If you have not yet completed the survey, please do so as soon as possible.
